Cutting sling (also rescue sling) for canyoning harness' (available in two different lengths - 16cm or 20cm)

The cutting sling is a short sling that can usually be attached between the canyoning harness and the descender using an anchor hitch. With some harness' it is already attached by the manufacturer (e.g. Kong Target), with other harness' it can be retrofitted with this sling.

The idea behind the cutting sling is that in the event of a rescue operation with transfer to another rope, the old rope does not have to be cut, only the cutting sling has to be cut. The color of the cutting sling should be clearly different from the harness and the rope. We offer yellow and red here (in different lengths, depending on the manufacturer).

However, caution should be exercised if the sling is too long, as the descender moves far towards the head (beard, hair, neoprene cuff, etc.) and therefore increases the risk of getting caught in the descender with these parts. We recommend the use of the 16cm variant, but the 20cm variant can also make sense (long upper body, bald head;).
